“Federal 1901” was a project entirely focused on preservation. This historic home sits in one of Salt Lake’s oldest neighborhoods, and any alterations to it needed to match the aesthetic of both the existing structure and the surrounding neighborhood. Thoughtful interior renovations yielded a kitchen, bathrooms, and an eye-catching staircase, all of which are defined by a charming-but-elegant feel. The addition off the side of the home, meanwhile, carefully adheres to the outside appearance of the original structure and contains a living area with vaulted ceilings, post-and-beam construction, and a distinctly inviting ambiance.
